Stock
A gift of long-term appreciated securities, either publicly traded or from a closely held company, may provide you with greater tax advantages than a gift of cash.

Real Estate
Gifts of real estate may include developed property, undeveloped property or gifts subject to a prior life interest. Real estate may be given outright or through a bequest, or may be used to fund a charitable trust or other life income plans. The gift amount will be based on the property’s fair market value, established by an independent appraisal.
For more information, please contact Joel Cencius, CFRE, Chief Development Officer at (414) 274-4710 or JCencius@SaintJoanAntida.org.
Life Insurance
The contribution of a life insurance policy can provide a significant gift to SJA. By designating SJA as both the owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy, the premiums are tax-deductible to the donor. If a fully paid life insurance policy is gifted, the cash surrender value of the paid policy at the time of the gift is deductible to the donor.
For more information, please contact Joel Cencius, CFRE, Chief Development Officer at (414) 274-4710 or JCencius@SaintJoanAntida.org.
Gifts In-Kind
In addition to financial contributions, SJA welcomes in-kind donations of goods and services that will benefit our students and the operation of the school. We do ask that our in-kind donation form below is completed for these gifts. The donor determines the gift values through appraisal, record of purchase or billing statement.
*Note: SJA may not be able to accept all items. Donations may be declined if the items cannot be used, stored, or readily sold.
IRA Charitable Rollover
Give tax-free distributions through your IRA.
Congress has extended tax-free distributions from Individual Retirement Accounts for charitable purposes. That means any gift made directly from your IRA to St. Joan Antida High School counts toward your minimum distribution and will not be considered taxable income. Each taxpayer can give up to $100,000 tax free in any tax year. This type of gift may be particularly appropriate if you are over the age of 70 ½ and required to take a minimum distribution from your IRA but do not need additional income.
For more information, please contact Joel Cencius, CFRE, Chief Development Officer at (414) 274-4710 or JCencius@SaintJoanAntida.org.
Bequests
A bequest is a gift made through a donor’s will and is the simplest and most common planned gift. The advantages of making a gift through a bequest are that the donor does not have to part with any property until after death and gift and estate taxes are avoided. Distributions can be made either as a specific dollar amount or as a percentage of the estate.
Types of Bequests:
- A cash bequest of a specified dollar amount
- A specific bequest, such as securities or real estate
- Retirement account assets, consisting of any benefits remaining in your retirement plans
- A residuary bequest, in which SJA receives all or a percentage of the remainder of your estate after other beneficiaries have been remembered
- A contingent bequest, in which property is distributed to SJA only if the named beneficiary is deceased
Tax I.D. Number
- St. Joan Antida High School has a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax exempt status; our federal tax ID number is 39-1570748.
For more information on how to make a will bequest to benefit St. Joan Antida High School, please contact Joel Cencius, CFRE, Chief Development Officer at (414) 274-4710 or JCencius@SaintJoanAntida.org.
Matching Gifts
You could DOUBLE or even triple the impact of your gift if you or your spouse works for a matching gift company. Check with your employer’s human resources office to inquire if the company matches its employee’s charitable gifts. If matching gifts are available, the donor will need to complete a matching gifts form and mail to our Development Department to submit for the match.
