Our high school experience lays the foundation for personal and professional growth, particularly for young women. During these years, we develop crucial skills such as leadership, critical thinking and resilience. From mentorship from teachers and ‘the sisters’ to sports and other extracurricular activities, St. Joan Antida High School has created a supportive environment where young women can envision their futures as leaders and change-makers.

How to record a video for submission:
SET THE STAGE: Dress for the camera. In general, avoid colors that blend into the background and strong patterns. Most importantly, show up as yourself. Just be you!
On camera, we can see everything around and behind you, simple backgrounds are better. Please do not use a virtual background of any kind.
Don’t sit in shadows or in very strong light. Light directly overhead is not the most flattering. Diffused light just off the front of your face is preferred. Please do not sit in front of a window.
Position your camera at or slightly above your eye level. This may mean (safely!) elevating your computer or laptop.
TECH PREP AND EQUIPMENT: Use the equipment that you already have. Find a quiet, stationary workspace with proper lighting and a quiet environment.
Laptop Camera: Make sure that the laptop is elevated so that the camera is at the same level as the your eyes.
Smartphone, iPAD, or Tablet Camera: Use a tripod, stand, stabilizer, or a colleague with a very steady hand to take video. You may set your camera up on a box to get it to eye level.
Audio: Use your best judgment when choosing a microphone. Use whatever sounds best whether that's your phone, laptop or even earbuds, just not the big headphones that cover your ears. It’s best to record a test video with each and play it back to yourself to determine which sounds best.
CAMERA ORIENTATION: Please film your video in landscape (wide) which for smartphones means turning your phone on it’s side.
