Below you will find the step-by-step admissions process for both incoming 9th graders (Freshwomen) and transfer students (grades 10 - 12).

Incoming 9th graders (Freshwomen)

In the spirit of celebrating our all-girl environment, we refer to the young women in our 9th grade class as Freshwomen. Below is the admissions process for a current 8th grade student in order to gain acceptance and enroll at SJA for 9th grade:

STEP 1

Submit the 2019-2020 Application for Admission. Please be sure to include appropriate signatures, have the potential student complete the Admissions essay, and verify that the contact information from the student’s current school is accurate.

PRIORITY APPLICATION DEADLINE:

Friday, November 30, 2018

STEP 2

Register online for a Shadow Visit or Admissions Test Session.

Shadow Visit days are offered EVERY WEDNESDAY and can allow your student to experience a day as an SJA student while they shadow a current SJA Ambassador.

All Shadow Visitors have the option of taking the Admissions Testing following their visit.

Admissions Tests are required for all current 8th grade students looing to enroll. Students will complete an English, Math and Spanish* test. These tests allow us to determine a student’s current academic ability and writing style required to successfully complete an IB program. SJA Admissions Tests are not the only factor used to determine ability to enroll. Plan for 1.5 hours to complete these tests.

* Only students with experience in the Spanish language are required to take this test.

STEP 3

Following review of your application, a formal transcript request will be sent to your current school directly from the Office Of Admissions at SJA.

If you would like to supply SJA with these materials the following information will be included in the request and you can turn them in directly to Alexis Carter, Director of Admissions at acarter@saintjoanantida.org or via fax at 414-272-3135.

    • Most recent 8th grade report card/progress report
    • Final 7th grade report card
    • Most recent standardized test scores
    • IEP or 504 Plan Information (if applicable)
    • Behavioral Report (form provided by SJA)
    • Attendance Report
    • Access Scores (if applicable)

STEP 4

A current 8th grade student aplying for 9th grade must provide the following information and materials to SJA to complete the Admissions Process:

1. Completed Application

2. Admissions test scores

3. Academic Records

Once received, your materials are reviewed and assesses by the Admissions Committee. Following this evaluation, the Office of Admissions will provide you and your family with a determination of acceptance in the form of a letter.

FIRST ROUND ADMISSION DECISION NOTIFICATIONS:

Friday, December 14, 2018

Because the process of Admission is separate from actual Enrollment, all families that are accepted and looking to attend SJA are then required to schedule an Enrollment Meeting.

STEP 5

An Enrollment Meeting will be scheduled by The Office of Admissions following acceptance to SJA with School Administration. This 45-minute meeting will require you and your family to meet with our Principal in order to discuss your transition to high school.

Bi-lingual sessions are offered upon request.

NOTE: Once your Enrollment Meeting is complete, acceptance to SJA for the 2019 -2020 school year is granted; however, enrollment is contingent upon the completion of the Financial Aid/Scholarship Application.

Families are encouraged to apply for the Wisconsin/Milwaukee Parental Choice Program. This program is used to cover the cost of tuition and fees, and the application will be available for the 2019-2020 school year on Friday, February 1, 2019.

Transfer Students

We welcome students and families who wish to transfer to SJA as upperclasswomen. Because we provide a rigorous, college preparatory curriculum, we encourage interested families to begin the admissions process as soon as they are able. Below is the admissions process for students coming from 10th, 11th and 12th grades.

STEP 1
