The all-girl environment at St. Joan Antida High School (SJA) allows students to develop confidence, self expression, and the skills to create strong relationships. All-girl schools are a place where girls' learning, achievement, leadership, and self-discovery are the center of attention. At SJA, all leadership roles are held by girls!
Research shows that girls from single gender schools are more likely to excel in areas that are more male-dominated. Specifically, SJA allows opportunities for our girls to participate and excel in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programs. According to the National Coalition of Girls Schools, "all-girl schools are leading the way for women in STEM." In all-girl learning environments there are no stereotypes about what girls like or where they can excel, which is why three times as many alumnae of single-sex schools plan to become engineers.
In all-girl learning environments, girls are free to find and use their voice and speak without interruption. At SJA, our students discover their potential without worrying about what her male peers might think of her. Finding her voice, building valuable relationships, becoming a confident leader, and excelling in academics is what prepares our students for the future.
