SJA Quick Facts 2014-15 School Year

  • Our Mission: In the spirit of Saint Joan Antida Thouret’s passion to educate and empower young women, we prepare our students to lead and serve in a global society through a values-based, Catholic education.
  • Our Vision: St. Joan Antida High School embraces young women, and empowers them to discover their God-given potential, give voice to their passions, and better the world. Our goal is to end poverty through a rigorous, college-bound education.
  • St. Joan Antida High School (SJA) is the only truly diverse, urban, all-girls high school in Wisconsin.
  • 98% of SJA students receive free or reduced-price lunch prices based on federal poverty guidelines; the corresponding number for Milwaukee Public Schools is 91% (source: MPS Report Card 2012).
  • SJA was accepted as a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program in 2013. SJA offers a rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum to all students regardless of socio-economic factors that can create academic delays. SJA will complete the IB application process this academic year.
  • SJA provides at least $5,500 in tuition per year for every student to fill the gap between funds provided by the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program and the actual cost of educating a student.
  • SJA enrolls students from more than 70 feeder schools throughout the city of Milwaukee.
  • Scholarships earned by the Class of 2014: over $860,500!
  • SJA has an enhanced STEM-focused (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) academic model that is oriented toward academic quality, a culture of excellence, student-centered learning, and access to post-secondary education.
