SJA Pilgrims Need Your Help!

Every other year, SJA provides an opportunity for our young women to make a 10-day pilgrimage to Assisi and Rome, Italy, in order to deepen their personal relationship with God through learning about the lives of St. Francis and St. Clare.

Our student pilgrims need your help! Please support this effort by purchasing a SaveAround coupon book with thousands of dollars in savings, before Friday, December 15. http://bit.ly/2AzKmWA

Reflecting on Pilgrimage:

Louise DeMarco, who helped start SJA's Student Pilgrimage Program and chaperoned the first SJA trip, reflects back on the experience:

"This program truly changes the lives of these students and deepens their spiritual faith." What touched me most was some of the comments the students shared with me during their trip:

  • 'Mrs. DeMarco, I feel so safe here in Assisi.'
  • 'I am moved by St. Clare, who at only 13 left the town in the middle of the night and joined Francis in the valley. She was so strong. She gives me courage to face anything.'
  • 'I loved watching all the families walk through the town around 5:30 - there were grandparents, parents, little children, teenagers. It brought tears to my eyes. I wish I could do that at home.'"
