SR. MONICA FUMO SOCIETY
Empowering Young Women
The Sr. Monica Fumo Society recognizes special benefactors who provide significant annual support to St. Joan Antida High School. Their generosity assures the continual quality college preparatory education at SJA which is guided by the Catholic faith and the values of Jeanne Antide.
The Society members know their partnership enriches the lives of young women by enabling them to prosper spiritually, intellectually and emotionally. In its mission, SJA guides young women during one of the most critical formative stages of life. The assurance of Catholic formation delivered in a strong multicultural context is the aim of the St. Monica Fumo Society.
SJA is committed to continually enhance its reputation as the gateway to academic excellence, service and leadership for young women in the City of Milwaukee.

About Sr. Monica Fumo:
Born to an Italian immigrant family in Kenosha in 1941, Judith Ann Fumo was welcomed by three brothers old enough to serve in the armed forces during World War II and a sister already in college. Judith Ann entered the community of the Sisters of Charity of St. Joan Antida in 1960 and became Sr. Monica in 1962. She attended Mt. Mary College and Marquette University. Initially a French and Music teacher at SJA, she also served as Vice Principal, Principal, President and Chancellor. During her almost 40 years of service, Sr. Monica has become known to students, alumnae, benefactors and staff members alike as the “heart and face”of St. Joan Antida High School.
