ST. JOAN ANTIDA HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNA OF THE YEAR AWARD

Purpose: Instituting the first annual SJA Alumna of the Year Award is a means of supporting an alumnae relations program whose fundamental purpose is to create and nourish an active alumnae interest in and understanding of the following:

  1. The mission and goals of their alma mater today.  The diplomas held by alumnae are only as valuable as the quality of the education which the school offers at any given time, so alumnae have a personal interest in the strength and vitality of the school today and into the future.
  2. The role of Catholic education in society.  Informed and interested alumnae can mobilize understanding and support of all the moral and practical manifestations of all Catholic schools.

SJA Alumna of the Year Award heightens awareness of the following:

  1. An individual alumna's accomplishments and service.
  2. The tangible results of the SJA education.
  3. How the greater community benefits from the contributions of the SJA alumnae.

Guidelines:

All candidates must have graduated ten years prior to nomination.

Criteria for the SJA Alumna of the Year Award are based upon the school mission. The SJA Alumna of the Year exhibits:

  1. Leadership and devotion in her family, community, vocation or profession, and in doing so is an inspiration for others.
  2. Respect all cultures, religions and economic experiences as an expression of her Christian values.
  3. Pride in her alma mater and its mission to young women today.

Procedure:

  1. Alumna may nominate self or fellow alumnae meeting guidelines above.
  2. Deadline is March 14.
  3. Nominations are sent to Shelley Hall, St. Joan Antida High School, 1341 N. Cass Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202.
